Appeal is pending…

Just last year, I got a $120 summon from the traffic police. (More information) I wrote in a appeal letter and it is still pending. They reply me with:
Dear Sir/Mdm
Thank you for your email.
2 This is an interim reply and your appeal is receiving our
attention. In the meantime, you need not comply with the expiry date
stated on the notice issued to you. The Officer taking charge of
your appeal will be replying to you in due course.
