Team Rabbit History… Are you interested? If yes, carry on reading…
Usagi (Rabbit in Japanese),was founded in Republic Poly when we were doing our first Final Year Project.
It comprises of 4 team-mates initially (actually not really initially, read up later):
#1 – MingEn-chan
#2 – Robert
#3 – Albert
#4 – ME
We have a lot of “birds” in the team, the most carrot chopping I guess is Robird…
Starting, Robert wasn’t supposed to be with us. It was xiao hong, a guy who did Java Jive with us, in our team. But due to his “pong teng” patterns, he was eventually dropped out of the team.
Well well, situation get more and more complex when Albert roped in a girl called Stella I think. At that point of time, mingen-chan and I didn’t think the girl will performed well. We went to invite Mr Robert to join us because the 3 of us get along very well, especially Robert was in my class at that point of time, Year 2 Semester 2. Moreover, Robert is not counted as “cha pa lang” programmer.
I will cut short the story on how the girl were kick out. Eventually, we instill Robert in our team and replace that girl with him.
When it comes to choosing FYP, we chose our project dilligently, choosing easy project as we are very sure we will complete in a very fast time and slack around.
However, life is unfair. A facilitator who was our advisor from Java Jive, Simon Lau, also known as Garfield by us, push us to do a special project called,
We were like ^&@%#%&$@%#$%^@%$# !!!! We rejected the idea of doing this project because in the first place, we don’t understand how it works nor have the interest in doing it as it was a supply-chain management game. But Garfield used underhand methods and we were given this project when the FYP assignment came out.
A screenshot of this stupid game:

In addition, we were stuck at drawing diagrams, like use-case and etc when doing this project. Until week 9, we were still drawing diagrams. No codes were actually written for the project. This would have to thank Garfield for insisting that we should follow by the book, drawing diagram before writing the codes. Not only these, he insisted that we should write test-cases to test our application. Fark Up! But have to admit our design or writing skills is weaker than our programming.
Due to the tremendous stress we faced, we also know how to enjoy ourselves. Some of the classic games we played when we met-up to do the project and play game:
Marvel VS Capcom
Metal Slug

Marvel VS Street Fighter

Sometimes, I wondered we are doing project or playing games because the amount of time playing is more than doing project.
Whenever we eat finish, we will find excuses like, rest or tired and started playing game. Even after dinner time we still play games till we went home around 10pm. We are hardworking to stay up late to do FYP.
Nevertheless, we managed to write finish the codes with the test-cases and presented it to the school. We were still able to get good grade despite the difficulties we faced. Aside from this, Garfield also promised that our transcript for our FYP will be “very beautiful” because the title for this FYP would be NTU Online Beer Game as the game is meant to be developed for NTU. We were very happy because we thought this would increased our chance when we apply for Uni in future.
However when we graduated and receive our certificates and transcripts, it turned out to be NTU Online Beer Game Online Beer Beer Game. Tell me who the fark is going to understand? Tell me what is this? Tell me how it works? Tell me who is going to pay!?
Okay, this is Part 1 because the story is very long and I am tired liao. Haha
To be continued…
